In June, a team of more than 30 Avery Dennison employees congregated at the Comedor Santa Maria dining hall in Mexico City, united by one mission: to help feed local children who come to the hall for meals every day. Whether preparing food in the kitchen, serving meals, or engaging with the children, all hands were enthusiastically on deck for a day of service.
Since its founding in 1995, Comedor Santa Maria has provided daily meals and nutrition education to more than 9,000 children across its 29 locations throughout Mexico. The Mexico City location alone regularly serves an estimated 500 mothers, and children ranging in age from four months to 16 years. While many local families rely on Comedor Santa Maria as their main source of food, the organization’s emphasis on nutrition education is equally important.
